AHA welcomes you and your family to a variety of upcoming events on campus. We look forward to seeing you soon!
8th Grade/Transfer Family Tours
The AHA Admissions team is excited to offer personal tours for families with students in eighth grade or transfer students. Families will have the opportunity to tour the building, meet AHA staff and students, see LIVE classrooms, and ask any questions. If you prefer a small group tour, we will begin to offer these later in the school year. The personal tours fill quickly so we will continue to add available dates as they school year progresses. Tours typically last about 45-60 minutes. **We are currently booked through Wednesday, December 14. We have added more dates to tour in January**
8th Grade Shadow Days
The student shadow program for 8th grade students is returning in November. Eighth grade students can visit campus with a current 9th grader and experience three classes and FREE lunch. These visit typically begin between 10:30 AM-11:00 AM and conclude at 2:00 PM. In keeping with our small class sizes, we do limit the amount of visitors on each shadow day so we encourage families to register early. **We have reached capacity for 9 Shadow Days - we have added more dates to shadow in January.**
We also offer these for current 9th & 10th grade students who are looking to transfer to AHA. Please contact Jim Decker to schedule these transfer visit days.
Parent Mornings - Small Group Tours
AHA will be hosting parent information mornings on Wednesday, November 9 and December 7, beginning at 8:30 AM. These are a great opportunity for 8th grade parents to learn more about AHA and tour campus in a small group setting.
Parents will meet with our Admissions team for a brief overview of AHA (while enjoying coffee and doughnuts) before getting a chance to tour the building and see classes in action. After the tour, we will conclude with a short Q & A session.
We ask families to register for these mornings. Space is limited and registration will close when capacity is reached. We will be adding more parent mornings in 2023!
8th Grade Placement Exam
Registration for the High School Placement Test (HSPT) is now available. All incoming 9th grade students need to take the Pre-ACT 8/9 placement test here at AHA.
This HSPT is for incoming ninth graders only (Class of 2027) and takes places on Saturday, January 7, beginning at 9:00 AM. Parents are invited to stay on campus during this time for an informational gathering that will include topics about scholarships, financial aid, transportation, activites, and many more.
If you can't make the Placement Test on January 7, you can join us on January 10 for the Make-Up Test at 3:30 PM.
**For students who have an IEP, 504 or accommodation plan and require additional test taking time, please contact Keri Brenden@ at firstname.lastname@example.org to make arrangements.
