Dear AHA Families,
This week, January 29 - February 4, marks the annual Catholic Schools Week observance and celebration. Now entering its 49th year, the week highlights the wonder and tradition of Catholic schools and the gift they are to all of us. This year’s theme is Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.
As a community of faith-filled learners, Holy Angels emphasizes the tenet that we, as a faculty, staff, students, and parents, form a bond that centers itself in those values highlighted in this year’s theme. We embrace those values along with the values of our founders (the Sisters of St. Joseph) and the values we live each day by the AHA Way. It is with this foundation that Holy Angels expresses the mission of Church entrusted to us by Christ.
The National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) states, “As communities of faith, Catholic Schools also are institutions with a hallmark of academic excellence directed toward the growth intentionally directed toward the growth of the whole person-mind, body, and spirit. Service is fundamental to Catholic education and a core component to our faith helping form our students to bring witness to Catholic social teaching." Holy Angels can be proud of our strong reputation of rigorous academics, faith, and service components.
In closing, thank you for your support of Academy of Holy Angels and our mission as a Catholic school of excellence. Together, let's say the following prayer in support of our staff as we recognize their contributions to Catholic education:
Teacher of all Peoples,
You make Catholic education to flourish throughout this land and call thousands of your people to be teaching ministers. Guide our Holy Angels faculty and staff with the gift of wisdom and integrity. We ask this in Christ’s name now and in the days to come. Amen.
Happy Catholic Schools Week!
