Class of 2025 Update

The AHA Class of 2025 is filling up quickly and we are excited to welcome all of our newest STARS on campus soon! As summer approaches, we want to make sure that you are prepared for all of the upcoming events. Here are a few items that were emailed to our Class of 2025 families last week:

  • Starfest, AHA’s biggest fundraising event and a fun time for all, is next Saturday, April 24th, 7 p.m. Join us for our free virtual event, hosted by AHA parents Frank Vascellaro and Amelia Santaniello, and see for yourselves the AHA spirit. We’re also hosting a RAFFLE FOR $10,000 IN CASH - buy a ticket and be a winner! For complete event details, click HERE.
  • Ice Cream Social, Wednesday, May 12th, 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (PLEASE RSVP HERE) All Class of 2025 families are invited to a gathering on our front lawn! Our goal is simply to have fun connecting with one another over ice cream.
  • Subject specific placement tests at 3:30 p.m.: if your student is taking a placement test, here are the dates: Monday, May 17, Math; Tuesday, May 18, English; Wednesday, May 19, Science; Thursday, May 20, World Language. If you can’t make a date, Tuesday, May 25, is the make-up date.
  • Welcome Parent 101 - Monday, June 7th, 5:30 p.m. (PLEASE RSVP HERE) Join AHA staff to learn about what to expect over the summer and the start of school. This orientation will provide you with information on policies, technology, and so much more! An RSVP will be on our website next week. Our goal is for you to have a smooth transition to the AHA Way!
  • StarPower 2025: Student-athletes, join us on campus for strength training and team building from June 7th through July 30th. Click here for details.
  • NEW! Bridging Program for all 8th grade students: We know that this last year has been challenging for many students. Our teachers are offering a two-week curriculum  in Math, English, Science and Spanish to give students a “booster shot” that includes an introduction to the materials in their 9th grade classes, a review of key academic skills and study strategies, and an accurate assessment of the areas where they need targeted, additional support. Students can sign up for one or more classes. Dates are still in the works, but plan on either the weeks of July 26 and August 2 OR August 2 and August 9. Stay tuned for more information!
  • Study Skills Class: We have always offered a study skills class in August (dates to coincide with our Bridging Program). It’s optional and is offered to students who want to brush up on study habits prior to the start of school. More details to follow.
  • New Student Orientation is Friday, August 20th, from 9 - 11 a.m. This is a fun morning for students as they meet their classmates, get their computers and training, get their schedules and lockers, take school pictures and so much more!
  • First Day of School is Monday, August 30th!
