Rachel Kawiecki Named 2021 Athena Award Winner

Rachel Kawiecki, senior, has been named the 2021 Athena Award Winner from Academy of Holy Angels (AHA) high school. The Athena Award recognizes an outstanding senior female athlete each year.

Upon learning the news, Athletic Director Michael Kautzman commented, "Rachel's drive, determination, and commitment have been an inspiration to her teammates, coaches, and the entire AHA community. She has lettered in four sports, captained three of them, and helped lead her teams to multiple conference and section titles and State places. We are proud to recognize her as AHA's top female athlete for 2021!"

Rachel began playing with the Stars during her eighth grade year. A resident of Richfield, she attended Blessed Trinity Catholic School for grade school. Next year, Rachel will attend Gustavus Adolphus College. She plans on continuing to play basketball and softball at the collegiate level for the Gusties.
