Friday, May 24 - Mandatory graduation practice and last day of school for seniors only

On Friday, May 24, seniors will gather promptly at 7:50 a.m. in the Convocation Center. All seniors are expected to attend. No food, drink, or gum is allowed in the gym. We will practice graduation-related activities in two locations: in the Convocation Center and at the Nicollet Entrance.  Female graduates must bring to practice the white shoes that they will wear for graduation. At the end of the graduation practice, we will distribute caps and gowns. We encourage seniors to open the cap and gown packet, try on the cap and gown, and press it according to the directions well before Celebration Day. Enclosed with caps and gowns will be information about any outstanding financial obligations your senior may have along with information on how to order commencement photos from Lifetouch. Lifetouch will also take the National Honor Society member photo and the photo of students and their alumni parents and grandparents on Celebration Day. Information on how to order these photos can be found on the Lifetouch website.

Monday, May 27th - No school/Memorial Day holiday

Wednesday, May 29th - Baccalaureate Mass

The Baccalaureate Mass is Wednesday, May 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Convocation Center with Father Mike Tix presiding. This is the last time the Class of 2019 will gather to celebrate as a faith community. Attendance is required. This is a dress-up affair for the graduates but they do not wear their cap and gowns. A reception will follow on the west court of the gym. Senior posters will be displayed here as well. The faculty member chosen by the senior class to speak during the liturgy is Mr. Jeff Hartmann.

Friday, May 31st - Celebration Day and last day of school for freshmen, sophomores and juniors

Senior Parents: You received a letter several weeks ago with more details about Commencement and Celebration Day. Read the letter

Celebration Day is Friday, May 31. Program begins at 8:15 am. Parents are welcome! On Celebration Day, seniors must be in school at 7:15 a.m. dressed in caps and gowns. At 7:25 a.m., the senior class will move to the front steps for a formal portrait followed by an alumni and NHS photo. AHA parents and grandparents who are alums and have a senior graduating should be to school by 7:40 a.m. for the picture. Members of the class of 2019 will wear their graduation attire, including caps and gowns, as we honor their accomplishments. Graduates must be dressed appropriately to participate in this celebration. Girls must wear a white or light-colored dress. No slacks are allowed, and shoes must be white, no tennis shoes or flip flops. Boys must wear a white shirt, tie, dark slacks and dress shoes. The attire for graduates must be worn at Graduation as well.

Sunday, June 2nd - 2019 Commencement Ceremony

The Class of 2019 graduation ceremony will be held outside on the front lawn on Sunday, June 2 at 4 p.m. Students should arrive by 3:25 p.m. Relatives and friends are welcome, and no tickets are required. Seating is first-come, first-serve - with the exception of the front rows that are reserved for families who won them at Starfest.

Graduates must be dressed in graduation attire including their cap and gowns. Girls should not bring purses and/or bags, as there will be no room to store them. Purses and bags should be left at home or with family members.

While an outdoor graduation is an AHA tradition dating back at least five decades, it is dependent on the weather. AHA staff will monitor weather conditions and make a decision about the location by 10 a.m. to ensure the dignity, as well as the health and safety, of all who attend. If the ceremony must be moved indoors to the Convocation Center, we will use our School Messenger telephone system to call senior parents at the phone number they provided to AHA for emergency communication. If we decide to move inside, we'll also post an announcement on our website. If the ceremony is held in the Convocation Center, the doors will open at 3:00 p.m. and seating will be first come, first served. Questions about graduation? Contact Ms. Kjorstad at 612-798-2691 or by email.

College and CareerFROM THE COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER

College decision and scholarship information

We are still waiting on scholarship information for some of our seniors. This information is announced on Celebration Day. Because we need to be consistent in how we announce scholarships, we do need to see the actual letter to ensure correct spelling of your students's scholarship. Here is an updated list of college and scholarship information for the Class of 2019Please proofread your student's information carefully to ensure we have their information listed correctly All information needs to be communicated to their college counselor by TUESDAY, MAY 28 to be included in Celebration Day.

Important Information for Senior Parents:

If your senior registered for PACC credit through Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, they will need to complete a request for an official transcript to be submitted to the college they are attending in the fall. This form is available in the College and Career Center. Your son or daughter can pick up this form, complete it and send it to Saint Mary's University of MN. SMUM will then send an official transcript to the college your senior is attending and the college will review the credits and consider them for transfer.

Also, the college counselors will send a final transcript to the college your son or daughter will be attending the week after graduation. Please know as long as there is not a financial hold on your student's account, their final transcript will be mailed to colleges by Friday, June 7.
