Friday, Oct. 26th: Early dismissal

On Friday, October 26th, school will be dismissed early at 1 pm. Buses will begin the afternoon routes at 1:10 pm. On E schedule days, regular hot lunch from Taher is not available. An AHA student group sells pizza from Richfield-based American Pie for $1.50 a slice. Students must pay with cash and are unable to use their school lunch account on these days.

Friday, Oct. 26th: Fall Play opens

See the fall play! The Crucible by Arthur Miller opens on Friday, October 26th. Tickets are $10/adults and $5/students and seniors. Email (preferred) or call 612-798-2612 for tickets.

Wednesday, Oct. 31st: PLC schedule

As a reminder, Professional Learning Community (PLC) days allow teachers to gather before school for department and grade-level meetings. School starts late for students at 8:25 a.m. Buses run at their regular times, and there's supervision at school for students who arrive early.

Friday, Nov 2nd: Parent Breakfast - Be part of it!

Requests have been made for an additional session! We hope you'll join us at school on Friday, November 2nd from 7:30 - 8:30 am to hear from school leadership about exciting future initiatives planned for AHA and how your child will benefit. A continental breakfast will be served. Kindly RSVP via email so we can plan accordingly.

State Soccer Tournament Information 

Congratulations to both boys and girls for winning their quarterfinal games at the State Soccer Tournament!! Both teams will advance to the semifinal games on Tuesday, October 30th and the information you will need is provided below.

Games are at U.S. Bank Stadium on Tuesday, October 30th:

  • Girls vs. Mahtomedi @ 12:00PM
  • Boys vs. Bemidji @ 6:00PM

Spirit Wear:
All students may be out of uniform and in school colors/spirit wear on Tuesday 10/30. Students may also wear spirit wear on Friday 11/2 if they advance to the championship.

Permission Slip:
Permission slip found here needs to be completed for all scenarios provided below. 

Fan Buses:

AHA will provide fan buses for the game within the school day. In order to ride the fan bus, a student must have a signed permission slip with $10.00 cash or check turned in at front desk by 1:30pm on Monday 10/29. Slips can be turned in at front desk on Friday or Monday between 7am and 11:30am.


Buses will depart on Tuesday at 11:15am with projected return by 2:30pm. Students should plan to eat at the game or bring their own lunch. Regular buses will run at 2:40pm.

For those students choosing to remain at the school, we will have an E schedule with 1:00PM release. For those students who will be riding buses home AHA will provide a supervised study hall from 1:00 – 2:40PM.

Student permission for those attending game during school but not riding fan bus: 
Tuesday - Students who return signed permission slip to attend Tuesday's noon game will be released from classes at 11am. Students are expected to attend class prior to the leave time. Permission slips for these students may be turned in to the front desk between 7am -11:30am on Friday 10/26 or Monday 10/29.

Wednesday - Should AHA play in 3rd place game at 8am for girls and/or 10am game for boys a permission slip is still needed. Please indicate this option when you sign in advance on one permission form.


Other dates:
Dependent on the outcome of Tuesday's games, the teams could play on either Wednesday or Friday.

Girls game would be at 8:00AM and boys game at 10:00AM. Due to early bus routes, fan buses will not be offerred this day but students who wish to attend with parents permission would attend games and return to school by 1:00PM for periods 6 and 7. MUST SIGN PERMISSION SLIP IN ADVANCE AS NOTED ABOVE.

Friday (Championship) - Games would be at 10:00 am for Girls and 12:30pm for Boys. Information for this scenario would be sent out Wednesday morning.

Testing for School Messenger on Oct. 26th 

AHA uses a program called School Messenger to notify families and staff when there is an unplanned school closing or any other emergency communication. During the day on Friday, October 26, you should receive a test voicemail on all of the phone numbers you have on record with us. If you would like to make any changes to your contact information, please update your profile through a secure connection on our website. Go to our website, click on Parents in the upper right hand corner and then on Update your Contact Information and log in.

Volunteers wanted for Starfest!

Many hands make light work - the Starfest Committee is seeking a few more members. Have fun, meet other parents, and help bring Starfest 2019 to life! For those new to the school, Starfest is AHA's annual gala and auction and our largest fundraiser of the year (April 2019). Email Sarah Hauer if you're interested in learning more!

Winter apparel now available

Our Winter Sports web page is now open online and includes uniform approved team sweatshirts, team apparel, and spirit wear. Check out the new spirit wear items from Under Armour. All orders will arrive before Christmas!  

Important facts:

  • When you have placed your order, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation, your order has not been placed. Try again!

  • We encourage you to order early. Some teams have included MANDATORY practice apparel. Delivery date is 4-5 weeks after order is placed.

  • All orders will be delivered to Holy Angels. Coaches will distribute orders to the players.

  • Questions can be directed to Customer Sevice information provided on your receipt.


Sunday, Nov. 4th: Mother/Daughter Luncheon

Sunday, November 4th is AHA's annual Mother/Daughter Luncheon. New this year: attendees will be making a project to take home! Invitations were emailed out to all families with girls. More information about the event can be found here.

Fall driver education class - last call

AAA has a comprehensive teen driver education program that includes: Classroom instruction, a parent/guardian night, a driver impact panel, and behind-the-wheel lessons. Students receive an AAA How to Drive Textbook and the Minnesota Driving Manual. Behind-the-Wheel lessons are available from both AHA and AAA St. Louis Park.

  • Dates:  Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays – November 5, 6, 8, 12, 13, 15, 26, 27, 29, December 3
  • Time:  3:00 - 6:15pm
  • Parent Night:  November 12 6:45-8:15pm at AAA in St. Louis Park

If a student is unable to attend all sessions, make-up options are available at AAA St. Louis Park.  Students are able to start the classroom portion of driver education at age 14.5.

Monday, Nov. 5th: Sibling & Cousin Day

Mark your calendars for our AHA  Sibling and Cousin Day on Monday, November 5, 2018.  We welcome all 7th and 8th Grade siblings and cousins, to come join your AHA student for a day.  Have lunch on Admissions, spend time together, meet friends, see classes and be a Future STAR!  

All siblings and cousins need to be registered by Thursday, November, 1st.  This event is limited to the first 90 guests so we have enough classroom space. CLICK HERE for more information and to register a sibling/cousin.

Saturday, Nov. 17th: Booster Club Steak Fry

Hello from the Academy of Holy Angels Booster Club! The annual Steak Fry and Auction is scheduled for Saturday. November 17th at Brackett's Crossing Golf club located in Lakeville. More details for the evening and registration forms can be found here.

This is the Booster Club's largest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds support AHA athletics, activies and arts. We look forward to seeeing you at this year's event.  It is a fun-filled evening of games, auction bidding, dinner and drinks. GO STARS!

Congratulations to Tracy Mossbrugger, AHA freshman parent, who is the lucky winner of the early bird drawing for reservations received by October 20th.  She will receive a $100 Stars Spirit gift card.

Freshman meeting with college counselors

Freshman parents: We have begun 9th grade meetings and appreciate if your 9th grader can complete the survey in their family connection account ahead of the meeting time if possible. If the time assigned does not work for your family, please call your college counselor immediately to reschedule. Ms. Kjorstad works with students last names A-L and can be reached via email or phone at 612-798-2691. Transcript request deadlines

Senior parents: Please remind your senior if they are applying to colleges with a November 15 deadline, they need to submit their request for transcripts in Family Connection by Tuesday, October 30. We currently have 290 transcript requests we are diligently working to submit to colleges. Remember: It is school policy that we do not submit test scores to colleges. Students need to have their test scores sent to colleges directly from the testing agency. They can request this online through or Be aware that many schools are beginning to allow self-reported test scores as part of the admission process. Students should check the websites of their colleges for the policies of each school. Finally, remind your student to bring in their admission and scholarship letters to their college counselor to get a STAR on the board. We need to know about scholarship awards for Celebration Day in the spring.

Senior parents, a word of advice for completing the FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available online at Here are a few tips that may help as you complete the FAFSA:

  • One parent and the student must each create a FSA ID. This can be done at the following site:
