AHA Community Celebrates New Turf Field

Over 150 members of the Academy of Holy Angels community came together on Friday, September 7th to celebrate the recent opening of the school's brand new turf athletic field.  The Field Dedication included a blessing from Father Tix, school chaplain; remarks from Tom Shipley, president; and reflections from Conor O'Rourke, Boys Soccer Captain; and Gia Aleman, Girls Soccer Captain. The students reflected upon what the new field means for them. O'Rourke stated "During the school year, this space allows for more practices and games to be held on campus which helps to build our overall program". He noted that the new space allows students to build comradery and familiarity between teams as they practice on the same field. He adds "we believe that by supporting each other and having a strong work ethic, we can build a culture of success, generosity, and community."

The field is part of a larger long-range plan to enhance the Holy Angels' campus and bring many updates to both the academic and athletic programs at the school.  Adding the second turf field makes Academy of Holy Angels the only high school in the country with two full-sized domed, turf fields.
