Head Boys Basketball Coach Announced

Andy Hannan '01 has been named the new head coach of the boys basketball team at Academy of Holy Angels (AHA). In this role, Hannan will bring with him a strong foundation of coaching, playing, and educational experiences.

Hannan has vast experience as both an individual and team basketball coach. He has coached as a personal basketball trainer where he provided customized basketball development plans for middle school, high school and collegiate student athletes, coached on the high school level and served as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach for Augsburg University for three years.

During his time at Academy of Holy Angels, Hannan received many basketball honors, including All-State, All-Metro and a nomination for Mr. Basketball in 2001. Following AHA, Hannan played NCAA Division I basketball at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV).  He was a starter and received Academic All Mountain West Conference in 2005.

He is an alum who understands the culture of AHA, he has experience as a Division I athlete at UNLV, and he has coached at the high school and collegiate level. Additionally, his background as an educator make him a great fit for this position."

Professionally, Hannan has worked for ten years in the Intermediate District 287 as a special education teacher and behavior intervention specialist.  He lives in Minneapolis with his wife and their two children and enjoys family time, staying active, music, and growing spiritually.
