Two Seniors Earn Prestigious Theater Award

Starlight Productions is pleased to announce that two Academy of Holy Angels students have been recognized by the Minnesota Department of Education in the Scholars of Distinction in Theater Arts program!

The Scholars of Distinction in Theater Arts is an extremely rigorous program of study that requires focused dedication and commitment for five months. There is an initial application, submitted written portfolio, a performance review, and audition/interview involved.

Approximately 100 students apply per year and of those, approximately 40% continue with the portfolio. Only 20 candidates were invited back for the final audition/interview. 11 were named scholars. Each scholar receives a medal of distinction and a certificate as well as a financial scholarship.

Senior Jocelyn Reiter (pictured left) has been named Scholar of Distinction in Theater Arts, Comprehensive: Acting/Technical Theater, Scenic Design. Senior Hunter Keating (pictured right) has been named Scholar of Distinction in Theater Arts, Meritorious Performance, Acting.

The awards ceremony is on Saturday, May 12 at the Perpich Center.
