Paulina Holmberg ‘18 was recently awarded Elite status in the competitive sport of Trampoline and Double Mini Trampoline.
Only about 1% of athletes nationwide reach the Elite level, which is based on both execution and difficulty scores of the routines. In the past nine years, only one other female gymnast in the state of Minnesota has achieved the level of Elite.
Paulina was awarded Elite status this past March at a special qualifying competition in Washington DC, where she took first place in both events.
Since the sport is not recognized at the Collegiate level, Paulina has two competitions remaining in her career- the Elite Challenge will be held in 2 weeks at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. In July, the USA Nationals competition will be held in Greensboro, NC.
Paulina began her gymnastics journey at the age of two, bouncing on a backyard trampoline. She has been competing for 9 years as a member of the Gleason’s Gypsy Flyers. She is also a coach and judge.
Paulina will be attending Pepperdine University in Malibu, where due to her extensive training in trampoline, she has been invited to join the Dive Team.
