The 2017 AHA prom is Saturday, May 20th at the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel. Grand March, which is optional, begins at 5:45 pm in the AHA gym. Students participating need to be in the AHA Theater by 5:30 pm. Get more information.
Graduation Details for Senior Parents
You received a letter last week with more details about Commencement and Celebration Day. Please read the letter. Included in this letter was a list of the senior class and their plans for fall. See the list. If information is missing for your senior, it is because they haven't communicated their final college choice or provided scholarship letters to their counselor. This information will be listed in the graduation bulletin and at Celebration Day. Because we need to be consistent in how we announce scholarships, we do need to see the actual letter to ensure correct spelling of your students's scholarship. Please proofread your student's information carefully to ensure we have their information listed correctly. All information needs to be communicated to their college counselor by May 22, 2017 to ensure it will be included in Celebration Day and Graduation.
Help us recruit for Spring Information night on May 24
The month of May is a busy one for all of us, and for Admissions too! We're hosting a Spring Information Night on Wednesday, May 24, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. for prospective 6th - 8th grade families seeking to learn more about Holy Angels. The evening will include a condensed overview of all that AHA offers to students. It's informal and not as detailed as our Fall and Winter Open Houses. Families are encouraged to RSVP on our website so we can better plan. Families are then invited to stay for our Spring Pops Concert starting at 7.

Spring Pops Concert is May 24
AHA's spring pops concert is Wednesday, May 24th at 7 pm. It's a wonderful time to hear our bands and choirs in action -- featuring lighter fare in the program. End-of-year music awards will be presented to students as well.
Seniors can donate uniforms on May 24
Seniors who donate their uniforms to the school on May 24 will get an out-of-uniform pass. We share used uniforms with members of our community not able to afford to have multiple uniforms. Donated items should be clean and in good condition. We will accept uniform shorts, skirts, pants, short and long-sleeved shirts, uniform sweaters and sweatshirts. Seniors can donate their uniforms in the Convocation Lobby on May 25 before school to get a pass to be out of uniform that day.
All Chromebooks will be collected before end of year; Summer loans available
All AHA students are required to turn in their Chromebook, the charger and the plastic cover before they leave for the summer. Seniors will turn them in on Wednesday, May 24th and Grades 9-11 will turn them in at the end of their last final on Thursday, June 1st. Students who fail to turn in their Chromebook, the charger or both parts of the plastic cover may be fined and/or have their AHA Google account locked. Returning students in grades 9-11 who are interested in checking out a Chromebook for personal use in the summer should fill out the form emailed to their school account and available in the daily bulletin before June 5th. Chromebooks will be available to be picked up beginning on June 19th and must be returned before August 14th. All AHA students will be issued a Chromebook when they return in the fall. Students dismissed at 1:45 pm on All School Service Day, Thursday, May 25th
AHA's fourth annual All School Service Day on May 25th will involve all AHA students and staff. After celebrating a Eucharistic liturgy, AHA students and staff will go forth to perform service in groups at agencies through the Twin Cities. The afternoon will include lunch, a closing program and recognition of service throughout the year, including Blue and Gold Awards. Students will be dismissed at 1:45 pm.
All required service hours due by May 26th
To be complete for the year, students should have the required numbers of hours minus 3 hours that will be acquired on All School Service Day. Hours will be entered automatically for those that are present on All School Service Day, then their requirement for the year is complete. Students who are absent on All School Service Day will need to serve 3 hours to make up for the absence (or do so beforehand).
Grade 9 will complete 12 hours before All School Service day, combined with 3 on All School Service day, need to have a total of 15 hours entered in x2VOL by May 26th. Grades 10, 11, and 12 will complete 17 hours before All School Service day, combined with 3 on All School Service day, need to have a total of 20 hours entered in x2VOL by May 26th.
Seniors can still sign up for Senior Party
Soon-to-be-Graduates Your Senior Party a.k.a. "Stars on Tour" will be on Sunday June 4th, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Don't miss this last adventure with your classmates!! Senior posters are due May 26th
Academy of Holy Angels has a long standing tradition of celebrating each senior by displaying a poster of the student. The poster usually captures favorite memories from childhood, school days and/or family times in a collage format. Get more information about how to make the posters. They should be dropped off at the AHA School office by May 26, 2017.
