Trimester two begins when school resumes on Monday, November 28th. Students and parents can access the trimester two schedules on NetClassroom.

WE WANT YOU TO KNOW

Focus on Behavioral/Mental Health
Emotional Health was a focus last week with all 9th graders at AHA. Counselors Sarah Taffe and Brian Parlet presented a session in all theology classes on the importance of good emotional health with an emphasis on the awareness of depression and caring for depression.
Check out our new website
If you've been to AHA's website recently, you've probably noticed it looks a little different. The quick links are at the top of the page so you can use that to find items that are most frequently accessed. Students, parents and alumni have portal pages with links specific to them and those portal pages can be accessed from the upper right hand corner. The website is responsive so it should display better on mobile devices than our previous site. We're open to your feedback. You can send suggestions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Give to the Annual Fund
At Holy Angels, our mission is to make STARS who then go out and make a difference in the world. We provide our students with great college preparation, daily faith formation and service opportunities, a rich activities program, all encompassed within a warm, supportive community environment. To fund our mission, we need your help! Annual gifts are critical, because they collectively support nearly 20 percent of our programs. Plus annual gifts help fund scholarship and financial aid for more than 250 students! Every gift, no matter the amount, helps our students become STARS. Last year, more than 2,000 AHA community members, and more than 1,000 AHA alumni, made a gift to support our students. This year, our targets are 2,400 overall donors and 1,200 alumni donors. So please give today! You can also learn more about the annual fund or suppporting annual student scholarships.
For parents of students with accommodation plans who are in AP classes
The College Board approves accommodations for students taking AP exams if and only if the student has had a full psychoeducational assessment by a licensed psychologist within the past three years. Documentation of this assessment needs to be submitted to the College Board by Feb. 1. This differs from the policies of ACT and AHA. Please contact Janet Oliver, Learning Variations Specialist for more information.
AP Test Cost will be added to TADS billing process in November
This is a reminder that if your son or daughter has an AP class, he/she will be taking an AP test in May. The cost for each test is $55.00 and will be collected via TADS beginning in November. The only exception to the TADS collecting process is for International Students. They must work/pay directly with/to the business office c/o Nancy Cullen (612-798-2615). Nancy's office is in the business area on 2nd floor administrative wing. Collections need to be completed by January for test ordering. Read more about AP Testing.
Seniors met with Jostens about graduation on November 7
On Monday, November 7, the seniors met with the Jostens Representative and completed an order form for their diploma, cap and gown. You have already paid a graduation fee so there is no additional charge for the order. Concerned your senior didn't spell their name right for the diploma or omitted the middle name you so lovingly chose for them? Don't worry--a final list will be sent home for parent approval later this year. Your senior was given a Jostens packet with details about other graduation items you can purchase. If you want to purchase any of these additional items, you can do this online directly through Jostens. Haven't seen this mythical packet from Jostens? Ask your Senior to check their locker. If you have questions or need another packet, please contact Ms. Kjorstad at 612-798-2691 or email@example.com

FROM THE COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER
"Score Back" session scheduled Dec. 6 on practice ACT results for juniors
Junior Parents: Wondering how your junior performed on the practice ACT administered at school in September? Mark your calendar now to attend a “Score Back” session on Tuesday, December 6, at 6 pm in the theater. The results of the Practice ACT will be distributed and explained by our representative from Sylvan Test Prep, and we will discuss the variety of test prep options for juniors offered this winter and next spring in advance of the April and June ACTs. Questions? Contact Ms. Kjorstad at 612-798-2691 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Freshmen Meeting with their College Counselor
Freshmen Parents: You should have received a letter from your college counselor regarding your assigned 9th grade meeting date and time. Included in this mailing was a code for your 9th grader to set up their Family Connection account, which they may have done in their Theology class on Oct 4. Your college counselor looks forward to meeting you and your student. If the time assigned does not work for your family, please call your college counselor immediately to reschedule. Ms. Kjorstad works with students last names A-L and can be reached at email@example.com or by phone at 612-798-2691. Mrs. Proctor works with students last names M-Z and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 612-798-2639. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Transcript Request deadline is 2 weeks before due date
Senior Parents: If your senior has a December 15 college application deadline, they must request their transcripts in Family Connection by December 1 to ensure counselors have enough time to send everything by the deadline. Also, remind your student to bring in their admission and scholarship letters to their college counselor to get a STAR on the board. We need to know about scholarship awards for Celebration Day in the spring.
