Alumni Newsletter - October and November 2016

Hello Fellow Academy of Holy Angels Alumni!

Class of 1980 at Rock the Lawn

I hope you and your family have enjoyed our beautiful fall season.  It’s been an exciting school year at AHA with continued momentum in our alumni engagement programming. This year we’ve had 10 class reunions, an exciting “Stars are out Tonight” event, a fun Homecoming week, a record-breaking Grandparents Day and a special Hall of Fame ceremony where we honored 16 AHA Alumni.  In addition we had an alumni volleyball event, an alumni soccer game and three alumni weddings in the AHA chapel. Thank you alumni for returning to AHA!

AHA Hall of Fame was a hit!

Hall of Fame Presentation

The AHA Activities Hall of Fame ceremony was a big success. AHA welcomed back alumni, friends and family to help induct and celebrate the Hall of Fame class of 2016. AHA recognized the outstanding accomplishments of Kristin Wiener ’03, Joe Meyer ’83 and the 1998 and 1999 State Champion Boys Golf teams. Each introduction and speech touched on the incredible impact that the AHA mission and educational experience has had on the lives of these alumni.

AHA Homecoming 2016

AHA Homecoming 2016 was a great time.  Thank you to those who returned to campus on September 30 to cheer on the Stars and to see your friends, classmates and teachers!  The current students enjoyed a week of theme days, pep fests, stud-liners, competitions and powderpuff football. New for 2016 was a semi-formal dance on Saturday night and the students loved the change. Go Stars!

2017 Class Reunions
Start your planning on Monday, November 7 at 7pm!

Class of 1981

Our 2016 reunions were very fun and successful. Now, we turn towards 2017 to begin our planning.  If your graduation year ends with a “2” or a “7” then 2017 is your reunion year!  The AHA Alumni Office is here to support your work.  If you have interest in helping to organize your 2017 reunion please consider attending a planning meeting on Monday, November 7 at 7 pm. The meeting will give you a chance to learn how AHA supports these events, get some good ideas and meet other AHA alumni who are planning these reunions for 2017.  Please contact Jesse Foley who can  help you get the process going.

The AHA Annual Fund
Your Gift Helps Our Students Become Stars!

2016 Graduates

At Holy Angels, our mission is to make STARS who then go out and make a difference in the world. We provide our students with great college preparation, daily faith formation and service opportunities, a rich activities program, all encompassed within a warm, supportive community environment.

To fund our mission, we need your help! Annual gifts are critical, because they collectively support nearly 20 percent of our programs. Plus annual gifts help fund scholarship and financial aid for more than 250 students!

Every gift, no matter the amount, helps our students become STARS.  Last year, more than 2,000 AHA community members, and more than 1,000 AHA alumni, made a gift to support our students. This year, our targets are 2,400 overall donors and 1,200 alumni donors. So please give today!

Give to the Max on Thursday, November 17!

Give to the Max Day is Nov. 17

Please plan to make your annual gift to AHA on Give to the Max Day on November 17!

Thanks to our generous community members, last year the school received $250,000 in gifts from nearly 500 donors, both of which were records!

Every gift, of any amount, will be recognized with a STAR in the AHA courtyard on Give to the Max Day.  Our target this year is 750 gifts – so please donate and help us fill the Courtyard with Stars! For more information, Go to AHA's Give to the Max Day page.

Starfest 2016

Starfest 2017 is April 22!

Mark your calendars for STARFEST 2017, which is Saturday, April 22nd, 2017!  Starfest is our biggest fund-raising event of the year.  This on-campus event includes dinner, a silent/live auction, plus live music and dancing.  In the past, roughly 50 alums have joined us and we are hoping for even more this year! So gather your family, friends or classmates and join us!
