Assistant Transportation Coordinator - Part-time

The Academy of Holy Angels High School is looking to hire a Part-time Assistant Transportation Coordinator to oversee daily functions of the afternoon bus routes. This will include inspecting and preparing the buses for their daily runs, checking in drivers for their shifts and communicating with other departments regarding their transportation needs as they arise.  

The hours are 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend shifts and/or the flexibility to work mornings when needed. This job includes light administrative work as well. Summer hours are flexible.

Although preferred, it is not required to have previous experience. On the job training will be provided.

Finance Officer

AHA Purpose and Mission

Position Summary/Expectations

The Finance Officer oversees the accounting functions of the Academy of Holy Angels. He/She is accountable for general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, taxes, payroll, benefits, annual budget preparation processes, cost containment measures and property, transportation and food service operations. The Finance Officer is a member of the School’s Leadership team, reports directly to the President and serves as staff representative to the Finance Committee of the Board, Investment Advisory Committee (Endowment) and the Facilities Committee. The Finance Officer must work collaboratively with administrators, department heads, staff, parents and others. In addition to his/her responsibility for effective daily Finance Office operations, the strategizing and planning of short and long term budgets and financial controls is expected.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create, direct and implement school-wide long range financial planning in alignment with the School’s strategic plan.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly and annual financials and accounting records
  • Maintains general ledger and related sub-systems
  • Coordinates preparation of the annual budget (in concert with President, Administrators, Finance Committee) and audit (in concert with auditors)
  • Develops ongoing cash flow projects and related forecasting
  • Manage accounts receivable/payable and all tuition management including disbursement and collection
  • Oversees and manages the School’s financial aid and scholarship programs
  • Manage investments and investment strategies with the direction provided by the Endowment Investment Committee and those investment policies created
  • Oversees all employee benefit programs including health/dental, retirement etc.
  • Oversees the adequate maintenance of property, professional and general liability coverage
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records
  • Advises and recommends to management on cost containment measures
  • Prepares all government, Archdiocesan and required annual reports as required
  • Assists the President in construction, renovation and other facility need projects
  • Attends all Board of Trustee and committee meetings as directed
  • Ensures the President is kept apprised of all significant developments
  • Oversees and evaluates the transportation, building and grounds, business office and food service departments
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management
  • 3-5 years’ experience in school business management or similar environment
  • Experience in finance or directorship for an organization with an annual budget of at least $5M
  • Strong knowledge of financial information software and accounting systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of investments, insurance, HR, and employee benefits
  • Supervisory experience
  • Background in contract management
  • Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written) and ability to work with diverse parent populations
  • High degree of confidentiality relating to sensitive information
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting in organizations
  • Understanding and commitment to Catholic education and mission

General Responsibilities
