The 2025 Triple ‘A’ Award nomination for Academy of Holy Angels has been given to two seniors, Ellie Krings and John Schletty. According to the Minnesota State High School League, “The Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award, commonly known as the Triple 'A' Award, honors high school seniors throughout the state who have an outstanding grade point average and who participate in League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities.”

  • National Honor Society member
  • Taken nine Advancement Placement courses and recipient of the AP Scholar with Distinction Award
  • Speech team member (grades 9-12); team captain (2025 season)
  • Dance team member (grades 9-12); team captain (2024-25 season)
  • Tennis team member (grades 9-12)
  • Ellie’s thoughts on how involvement in the arts, athletics, and academics has helped her as a student: “Throughout my four years at AHA, these three activities – academics, athletics, and speech - have all blended together to complement the person I am today. My academics are challenged and motivated by the lessons I learn from sports and speech. My drive to be good at school became my drive to succeed in sports. And the skills I learned in the classroom transferred over to make me a better speaker. The Triple ‘A’ Award was never my motivation; however, it is a definition I would be happy to carry.”

John Schletty’s key interests and achievements include:

  • Taken seven Advancement Placement courses
  • Choir member (grade 12)
  • Piano and guitar player
  • Soccer team member (grades 9-12); State Champion (2024)
  • Football team member (grade 12); State Tournament participant (2024)
  • Track & field team member (grades 9-12); team captain (2024, 2025)
  • John’s thoughts on how involvement in the arts, athletics, and academics has helped him as a student: “Participating in the arts, athletics, and academics has made me more effective, versatile, and well rounded. I have learned to think more creatively, innovate, and understand different perspectives, enhancing my ability to communicate and collaborate effectively. I have always strived to be a well-rounded individual through volunteering, the arts, athletics, and high academic achievement. I hope to continue to develop as a capable member of society, ready to take on new challenges and make meaningful contributions to my community.”

Athletic Director Carolyn Arnebeck shared, "Congratulations to Ellie and John on receiving the prestigious Triple 'A' Award nomination! Their outstanding achievements in academics, arts, and athletics are a testament to their dedication, talent, and hard work. Ellie and John embody both the AHA Way and a spirit of excellence in all that they do."
