What Should I Wear Today? The Options at AHA Might Surprise You!

“What do I wear today?” is a question everyone asks themselves each morning. At Academy of Holy Angels, that question looks a little different thanks to school uniforms. It may be surprising to learn just how much variety exists within the AHA dress code. The number of approved sweatshirts alone reaches well into the hundreds!

The traditional AHA uniform includes a few staples: navy pants or shorts, a navy or plaid skirt, and collared shirts. One way that students differentiate their look is through uniform-approved sweatshirts. 

Each year, Holy Angels expands its selection of approved crewnecks and quarter-zips, many of which debut in the school’s Spirit Store. New designs are rolled out every year, with many designs tied to sports, clubs, activities, or student-created ideas. AHA Spirit Store Manager Sarah Hauer shared her excitement, “I love working in the store and hearing the buzz as new sweatshirts arrive! I enjoy chatting with students throughout the day to hear what they want to see next. We’ve also put out two surveys this year, and I was pleasantly surprised that we received hundreds of responses on each!”

The variety extends far beyond what’s on the shelves today. Walk through the halls on any given day, and you’ll see dozens of different sweatshirts - new styles from the Spirit Store, team apparel, club gear, and even vintage pieces passed down from older siblings or alum families.

As one Holy Angels senior put it, uniform sweatshirts allow students to express their interests and personality while still showing their AHA pride.

The sweatshirt tradition at AHA is more than just a uniform choice; it reflects a community rich with spirit, history, and individuality. The designs may differ, but the heart behind them is the same.
