Marshak and WCCO 2024
Updated

This fall, the Academy of Holy Angels Athletic Department has partnered with Human Powered Health, an Edina-based performance lab, to provide AHA's student-athletes with advanced sports performance assessments typically reserved for collegiate and professional teams. This new collaboration involves weekly lab testing on specialized equipment which allows coaches and players to quickly and accurately analyze each athlete's unique physiology.

The girls soccer team, with head coach Dave Marshak, and the football team, with head coach Jim Gunderson, are piloting the program this season. The data collected has aided these coaches in developing training strategies, optimizing playing time, and managing injury risks associated with fatigue and physical imbalances. This approach helps players and coaches make informed decisions about training intensity and game participation throughout the season.
