Jumpstart Your Junior Day
Updated

On Tuesday, January 28, 11th grade students spent time dedicated to shaping their future college applications. The full-day event, Jumpstart Your College Planning Day, is designed to equip students with the tools, resources, and confidence they need to navigate the college admissions process with ease.

As part of this required event, students step away from their usual coursework and dive into a series of informative and hands-on sessions. These sessions included:

  • Finding Your Fit
  • College Essay Writing
  • Resume Writing
  • Admissions Review
  • Career Preparation
  • Naviance College Search

This intentional, step-by-step approach is crafted to set AHA juniors on the right path early, so they’re not feeling overwhelmed when the fall application season comes during their senior year.

A key component of the day is that our students gain the necessary tools to complete their College Planning Portfolio. This personalized portfolio is due on April 9 and is designed to ensure that students have all the necessary materials and reflections ready for their applications down the road. By tackling key tasks and preparing important documents now, students will be able to focus on their senior year academics, extracurriculars, and their well-being.

This event is just one of the many ways that AHA's College & Career Center supports students on their journey to college - helping them feel empowered, organized, and ready for the next step in their educational careers.
