Congratulations to senior captain Henry Lechner, who recently broke the school’s all-time scoring record in boys hockey! Henry earned his 253rd career point in the Stars' win over Hudson, WI on January 25, surpassing the previous record held by Danny Mattson '09. Danny was present to witness this historic moment and personally congratulate Henry on his accomplishment (pictured right).
Head coach Pat Griswold, who recorded his 200th career victory earlier this season, shared, “Henry is a very special player and leader. In our summer training, we skate with our younger group to help them feel welcome, and all the younger players in our program look up to Henry daily. His accomplishments on the ice are amazing and crazy to sit and think about. But I’m even more proud of him being a great student and someone who exemplifies what the AHA Way represents at school and in the community. It has truly been an honor to coach Henry these past four years.”
Henry has already committed to play Division I hockey at the University of St. Thomas next year. He currently leads the state in goals with 35 and is second in the state in points. He has led the Stars to a strong 2024-2025 season thus far. The team has been ranked within the top ten for most of the season and have a record of 16-2-1. The Stars will host the Benilde-St. Margaret’s Red Knights in a rivalry match-up on Tuesday, January 28 at 7:00 p.m.
Two other Stars have reached impressive milestones themselves this season. Junior Lincoln Ayers Assad surpassed 100 career points in December, and junior defenseman Gabe Perron also surpassed 100 career points earlier this month.
