Senior Ashley Fisher has been named the 2024 Athena Award Winner from Academy of Holy Angels (AHA). The Athena Award is based on nominations and votes by head coaches of girls' teams and recognizes one outstanding senior female athlete each year.
Ashley's athletic career as a Star includes participation in track and field, dance, and swimming/diving. She grew up focused on gymnastics, and she began AHA with an interest in dance. However, when Ashley made it to the Track and Field State Tournament as a 9th grader, amongst a very difficult section at that time, her main athletic focus quickly shifted. She went on to earn 10th in State as a 9th grader and was State Champion in both her 10th and 11th grade seasons in the 100-meter sprint! She holds four school records (100m, 200m, 4x100m, and 4x200m), has earned All Conference honors the past three years, and earned All State honors the past two years.
Ashley also excelled in dance, earning four All Conference honors and All State honors for the past three years. She earned All Conference in swimming/diving as well.
Outside of her busy athletic schedule, Ashley works as a coach at Legacy Gymnastics, is involved in Campus Ministry Team, and volunteers at Arc Value Village.
Athletic Director Carolyn Arnebeck shared, "Ashley truly embodies the term 'student-athlete.' She is determined, hardworking, and successful in both her academic and athletic endeavors. We are all extremely excited for her senior track season to begin soon and to watch her collegiate career continue at Notre Dame!"
Ashley, a resident of Eden Prairie, attended St. Hubert Catholic School for grade school. After graduating from AHA this spring, Ashley will attend the University of Notre Dame. There, she will participate on their track and field team and plans to study business, accounting, or finance.
Congratulations, Ashley!
