We realize that finding a school community that is a good fit for your family and your child is very important. If you're considering making application for your child, perhaps you've already been to an admissions event or spent time engaging in some way with our community. The application process is an important next step and we're here to help. We in Admissions try to make this process as personal and straightforward as possible. Refer to the information below or call us today and we can help get you started.
**If you miss the first round application deadline, you can still submit your application for the Class of 2022**
Whether your son/daughter is an incoming ninth-grader or a student applying for grades 10-12, we welcome your application for admission. Throughout this important process, AHA attempts to determine whether AHA is the right fit for each applicant. The basic academic requirements for admission are similar for most applicants. AHA requires that each applicant submit an application, two teacher recommendation forms, a release of information form and a typed student response essay. Some students will be required to have a personal interview as well. Click here for AHA's Criteria for Admissions for 9th graders.
International student applicants follow a different process. This process is outline on the "International Program" page.
Here's how to get started.
First, complete the AHA Application for Admission in one of two ways. You may apply online (preferred to us!) or choose to print, complete, and send a "hard-copy" application.
The online application will walk you through the entire process. After you submit the application itself, you'll find links to those documents (the parent release of information and teacher recommendation forms) that need to be submitted separately. You'll also find the instructions there for the Student Response Essay.
The printable application is simply a PDF that you print, complete and either mail or scan and email.
Please remember that the information that you provide is the first tool we have to help with your child’s academic and social transition to AHA.
Second, whichever way you choose to apply, AHA requires your child to complete a typed 400-word essay. Encourage your student to take the time to complete the essay thoughtfully and carefully. We ask that the essay be in response to this statement:
Each year, Academy of Holy Angels (AHA) makes thoughtful decisions about the students we enroll. Your academic records and teacher recommendations provide us with important information about you, yet we would like to hear from you personally. In a formal essay of approximately 400 words, explain three things about yourself that your records may not tell us. In addition, end your essay with two reasons why you feel AHA is the right fit for you.
Third, complete the Parent Request for School Information Release and return it to AHA. AHA admissions will send all signed Parent Request for School Information forms directly to your child’s current school to gather all academic and behavioral transcripts and documents.
Fourth, submit two teacher recommendation forms. One of these recommendations must come from a current math or English teacher, while the other may come from any other current teacher in a core subject such as social studies, science, religion, or world language.
AHA will make admissions decisions based upon all information provided. We will inform your family of your student's admissions status in a letter.
Submit any application document in one of three ways: by emailing Meg Angevine at email@example.com, or by faxing to 612-798-2610, or by mailing it to:
