Service Requirement

Star Service
Objective: To live the AHA way by completing more meaningful/inspiring service each year. The emphasis is to create meaningful relationships in the service of others over the mere completion of service hours.
Overview
- Each trimester class has a specific service assignment that all students will complete.
- These assignments are created with student age and course curriculum in mind.
- Classroom teachers will grade assignments and ensure authenticity.
- The Super Star Service Award is a prerequisite for application to the Campus Ministry Team starting with the class of 2028.
- The Super Star Service recognition will be awarded to students who have made a year-long commitment (9 visits from June to May 1st) to a single service site from the list of approved non-profit organizations or sites approved after consultation with the service coordinators. These students will complete a Super Star Service Award application in the fall and work with the service coordinators throughout the year to verify progress.
