Star Service

Objective: To live the AHA way by completing more meaningful/inspiring service each year. The emphasis is to create meaningful relationships in the service of others over the mere completion of service hours.

Summer 2026 Service Information - This information was shared with all students in Theology classes. This document explains how students can complete service over the summer if they choose. 

List of Preapproved Service Sites - If students choose to complete service over the summer, these are the organizations at which students may serve. 

Service Award Information - An explanation of regular yearly service requirements vs. Super Star Service requirements.

Service information will be presented to incoming 9th Graders (Class of 2030) during Trimester 1 Theology classes.

Overview

• Each trimester class has a specific service assignment that all students will complete. 
• These assignments are created with student age and course curriculum in mind. 
• Classroom teachers will grade assignments and ensure authenticity. 
• The Super Star Service Award is a prerequisite for application to the Campus Ministry Team, starting with the class of 2028. 
• The Super Star Service recognition will be awarded to students who have made a year-long commitment (9 visits from June to May 1st) to a single service site from the list of approved non-profit organizations or sites approved after consultation with the service coordinators. These students will complete a Super Star Service Award application in the fall and work with the service coordinators throughout the year to verify progress.
