• Medication Administration Authorization Form

Keri Brenden, Department Chair/Learning Center Director - Ms. Brenden works with students who have an Educational Diagnosis or Learning Variations Plan. She coordinates with Richfield Public Schools for issues of accommodation and testing for students with learning disabilities. kbrenden@ahastars.org, 612-798-2668

Sarah Taffe, School Counselor – Ms. Taffe works with students whose last names begin with A-L on issues of behavioral health, wellness, and academic issues. She is also the contact person for standardized testing. staffe@ahastars.org, 612-798-2654

Jake Schuman, School Counselor – Mr. Schuman works with students with the last names beginning with M-Z on issues of behavioral health, wellness, and academic issues. He is also the contact person for AP testing. jschuman@ahastars.org, 612-798-2638

Jim Gunderson, RTI coordinator - Mr. Gunderson is AHA's Response to Intervention (RTI) coordinator. He works with students who need more academic support but who do not have a Learning Variations Plan. jgunderson@ahastars.org, 612-798-2633.

Learning Variations (Special Education Services Notice)

In cooperation with the Richfield School District, AHA wants to be sure that parents know that students with disabilities attending elementary or secondary private schools in Richfield may be eligible for special education services through the Richfield Public Schools. 

Any time throughout the school year, if a parent believes a child may be eligible for special education services, the parent should contact AHA's Learning Center Director for more information.

As a part of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, we are committed to protecting children and youth. Academy of Holy Angels fulfills this commitment with the following:

• Recruit and screen volunteers and employees
• Track the Essential 3 for all volunteers and employees
• Host VIRTUS safe environment training sessions
• Ensure that all events at AHA follow policies and best practices for the safety of children and youth
• Share safe environment information with parents, parishioners and others
• Conduct and track personal safety lessons for children and youth
• Report annually to OPCY regarding compliance with the Essential 3 and children and youth safety lesson requirements

Depending on a volunteer's role, they may need to complete the Essential 3 that are the Archdiocesan requirements of the Safe Environment Training. We'll need them to read and sign the Code of Conduct, complete a background check, and attend Virtus Training. They should be in contact with Becky Herling, Safe Environment Coordinator, with any questions, bherling@ahastars.org.

RESOURCES
