  • Students Assisting Students (SAS) is a peer counseling group made up of approximately 20 selected students grades 10-12.
  • SAS members are available to meet with students who have issues that they would like to discuss with a peer rather than with a counselor.
  • In addition, SAS assists the Admissions Team with incoming student issues, in particular, those of transfer students.
  • SAS also hosts a number of events throughout the school year which are intended to improve the overall well-being of the student population.  Examples include St. Nick’s Day celebration and a Valentine’s Day event.
  • Interested students can apply to be part of SAS during the spring application process.
  • In 2010-11 SAS sponsored a very successful open mic(rophone) night and a created a great video for a student convocation.

What's happening in SAS this fall?

  • It's St. Nicholas day on Friday, December 7: Reviving an old European tradition, students will leave their shoes in the hallway outside classroom doors in hopes that St. Nick (or an SAS member) will leave them some candy.

    .

  • Candy Cane Cheer: SAS will be selling candy canes which students may purchase for someone else. They'll be invited to attach a message, and SAS members will deliver the Candy Cane Cheer to recipients just before school dismisses for the holiday break.
  • SAS is creating a video for a student convocation on January 19
  • And, the ever-popular open-mic(rophone) night is scheduled for February 3.

Want to be part of SAS?

Students are chosen through an application and interview process. SAS is looking for compassiona students with good judgment, leadership skills and maturity.
