Lacrosse, Girls
Coach Kathryn Knippenberg

High School: Kathryn is a Hopkins High School 2004 graduate. She played defense on the first varsity-sanctioned team from 2002-2004 and was captain for the 2004 season. She also played soccer from 2001-2002.
Collegiate Experience: Kathryn attended the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities 2005-2008 and participated in the club women’s lacrosse team during that time. She was the travel officer during the 2006 season. As the president of the club in 2007 and 2008 seasons, she brought the team from a 70th rank to being ranked in the top 25 in the Women's Collegiate Lacrosse Association. She also served as captain in the 2008 season.
Post-Collegiate Experience: President of the North Central Women's Lacrosse League, 2009, 2010, and 2011.
She has served as AHA girl’s lacrosse head coach since the 2010 season.
Coach Karen Heggernes
High School: Karen is a Cretin-Derham Hall 2006 graduate. She helped begin the girls lacrosse team in her junior year and was captain in her junior and senior years. She was the team MVP in 2006 and participated in varsity soccer and several other extra curricular activities.
Collegiate Experience: Karen attended the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities 2006-2010 where she played on the women’s lacrosse club team and held several officer positions including vice president and travel coordinator. She was team captain in her senior season. She was named MVP during freshman and senior year championship games for the NCWLL and was honorable mention and second team All-League Attack in 2008, 2009, and 2010 seasons as well as MVP Attack for the Gopher Squad 2009 and 2010.
